The Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering School of Shenzhen University held the Alumni Work Promotion Meeting and a revisit session with distinguished alumnus Mr. Wei Feng on March 20, 2023, at Room 1214 of Zhiyuan Building, Shenzhen University.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Secretary Lin Jilin of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, with the presence of School Party Secretary Lin Bing, three teachers from the Alumni Affairs Office, and Mr. Wei Feng, an outstanding alumnus of the Applied Physics program at the School of Physics and Energy of Shenzhen University and Chairman of Mait Group. During the meeting, detailed discussions were conducted on the advancement of alumni work and the organization of anniversary events.

The meeting commenced with an introduction by Deputy Secretary Lin Jilin. Secretary Lin Bing delivered a speech, aligning the activities with the school's 14th Five-Year Plan and providing directives for the implementation of anniversary-related tasks. He emphasized the significance of Shenzhen University's 40th anniversary celebration, stressing the need for meticulous planning of alumni association establishment, fostering a comprehensive alumni network, and facilitating communication channels between faculty, students, and alumni. Secretary Lin Bing expressed hope that Mr. Wei Feng would play a pivotal role in the Alumni Council, offering insights for its establishment and contributing to the smooth progress of alumni affairs, thereby actively supporting the success of the university's anniversary celebrations.

Following this, Deputy Secretary Lin Jilin elaborated on the arrangements and specific plans for the anniversary celebration, including the formation of the alumni association and council, preparation of related activities, and other pertinent tasks. He highlighted the detailed arrangements for alumni work, such as drafting alumni activity plans, recommending alumni for council positions, and formulating the alumni association's constitution. He underscored the importance of establishing the new alumni association as a crucial component of the anniversary celebration, facilitating stronger ties between the school and its alumni, and contributing positively to the school's development.

During the guest introduction segment, Mr. Wei Feng, Chairman of Mait Group, shared his personal and professional journey, highlighting his outstanding academic achievements during his time at the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering. He emphasized the importance of alumni engagement and expressed his delight at witnessing the progress made by the school in deepening alumni relations. As an alum himself, he encouraged active participation in alumni activities and support for various anniversary events.

The meeting also featured presentations by counselors, including Mr. Li Kaixin on the alumni association plan and the list of undergraduate alumni council members, Ms. Lin Na on the list of graduate alumni council members, and Mr. Huang Weibiao on the drafting of profiles for outstanding alumni and subsequent anniversary publicity work.

Finally, during the open discussion segment, attendees engaged in active exchanges regarding the advancement of alumni work and the planning of anniversary activities, laying a solid foundation for the successful organization of Shenzhen University's 40th anniversary celebrations.
