Undergraduate Teaching Work
Completed the review and submission of newly opened courses for this semester; completed the assessment of undergraduate teaching awards for the 2021-2022 academic year; completed the application work for undergraduate students' disciplinary competition projects in 2023; jointly completed the self-examination of test papers for the Department of Basic Physics and the Department of Physics; responded to the publicity activities of academic majors organized by the Academic Affairs Office and completed the submission of materials.
On March 22nd, Deputy Dean Wang Nan organized a seminar on undergraduate enrollment work for 2023 in the 1101 conference room. Department heads Yu Yunjin, Yin Yuan, Liu Guoqing, Chen Shuo, and the teacher from the Academic Affairs Office, Xiong Shuzhe, attended.
Graduate Work
On the afternoon of March 21st, a meeting was held by the Graduate Office of the College to arrange the comprehensive examination, formulate the examination plan and scheme, and deploy the comprehensive examination preparation work.
On March 22nd, secretaries from various degree-granting points of the College convened for a meeting on the comprehensive examination for master's students in 2023. The meeting conveyed the requirements of the school documents, emphasized the discipline and standardization of the comprehensive examination, and arranged the interview work.
Drafted and published the "2023 Shenzhen University College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering Master's Comprehensive Examination Rules," the comprehensive examination schedule, the first batch of voluntary interview lists, and information on adjustments for master's students' enrollment in 2023. Developed the "2023 Shenzhen University College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering Graduate Enrollment Comprehensive Examination Process" and the "Main Content of the 2023 Comprehensive Examination + Comprehensive Interview Scoring Reference Table", and made the examiner score sheet to ensure the standardized and smooth progress of the comprehensive assessment work.
Collected academic innovative achievement materials from postgraduates in the first half of 2023, including the degree application and qualification review.
Postdoctoral Work
On March 24th, contacted Xuyu Optoelectronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. to carry out joint postdoctoral training as per the school's requirements and completed the joint training filing procedures.
Postdoctoral affairs: this week, 4 applications for admission to the postdoctoral station were approved, 2 applications for exit were approved, 2 applications for leaving the school were processed, and 20+ applications for proposal, mid-term assessment, and final assessment defense were reviewed.
Scientific Research
In accordance with the school's schedule, a meeting was organized on March 20th for the leaders of the discipline, academic responsibility, and various directional leaders of the College to discuss the planning report of the creation of the first-class discipline in optical engineering, in preparation for the fifth round of discipline assessment seminars B and B+ planned for late March.
In line with the work arrangement of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee, opinions were sought from the heads of research teams within the institute on the "shortcomings of basic research in Guangdong Province and work proposals." Information materials were organized, and the submission was made to the university's Science and Technology Department on March 21st.
On March 22nd, contracts for the 2023 Shenzhen Talent Project were signed, and our institute was approved for 2 doctoral initiation projects.
On March 22nd, Chao Zhexiong, a chief inspector and deputy director of the Nuclear Facility Safety Supervision Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Deputy Director Zhao Guobin, visited the China Institute of Nuclear Energy and Safety at Shenzhen University to conduct on-site research and discussions on the informationization and capability enhancement training for nuclear facility safety. Professor Liu Yong, the dean of the Nuclear Institute, and Professor Luo Jingtig, the executive dean, and some other staff attended the meeting.
On March 23rd, a group of Wu Xi Municipal Party Committee members, led by the Minister of Organization Department, visited the school. A research symposium was held in the 201 meeting room of the Huiyuan Building, attended by Deputy Dean Luo Jingtig and Professor Peng Zhengchun.
On March 23rd, the deadline for the collection of proposals for the 2023 Shenzhen Natural Science Foundation (Basic Research) key projects came to an end. Our college submitted a total of 55 proposal suggestions.
Laboratory and Equipment Management
On March 22nd, as per the requirement in the letter from the Shenzhen Education Bureau seeking recommendations of experts in the field of imported products in various subject areas, the collection of various experts in the field of imported product procurement within the college was initiated.
The data verification work for the 2023 college experimental rooms was carried out, and it was found during the inspection that there were significant safety hazards in the laboratory (Science and Technology Building B118). A notice was issued for rectification within a specified period.
Completed the guidance and processing of external sharing for large-scale equipment, which has been newly stocked since September 2022, at the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Commission's shared platform, and the university's large-scale equipment shared platform. There have been a total of 6 large-scale equipment items newly stocked since September 2022, amounting to a total asset value of approximately 6.878 million RMB. Out of these, 4 new equipment items have been processed for sharing, and 2 items are temporarily not for external sharing due to applications such as the cooperation agreement with China General Nuclear Power Corporation.
Student Affairs
On the morning of March 20th, the party secretary Lin Bing and deputy secretary Lin Jilin held an alumni work meeting with Wei Feng, chairman of the Meite Group and an alum of the college, in the college meeting room. The counselors attended the meeting.
In the afternoon of March 20th, Deputy Secretary Lin Jilin led a team to visit the alumni enterprise—Shenzhen Toray New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., where the Deputy Director of the Department of Optoelectronics, Lei Lei, graduate student counselors, and undergraduate counselors participated in the visit.
In the afternoon of March 21st, Shenzhen University held the first "Ideological and Political Theory" class. Li Qingquan, the school's secretary, delivered a lecture to student representatives on the theme of "Thoroughly Implementing the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Focusing on Constructing a 'University-Region' Community of Shared Destiny." Sixteen undergraduate students and fourteen graduate students from our college attended the lecture in person.
On March 23rd, the writing work on the achievements of three outstanding alumni of the college was completed. In accordance with the school's requirements, five alumni were recommended by the college leadership team through a vote as candidates for the Alumni Council of the school.
In the morning of March 24th, Lin Jilin led a team to welcome Peng Xuyun, Dean of Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing College of Shenzhen Technician College, along with a group of five people. Graduate student counselors and representatives of postdoctoral and doctoral students from our college participated in the meeting. Both sides had fruitful communication and exchange regarding doctoral recruitment, school-industry cooperation, and other matters.
The Student Affairs Office and the Graduate Student Affairs Office jointly organized students to participate in the high-level seminar on "The New Round of Technological Revolution, Industrial Transformation, and Industrial Internet" hosted by the college.
Party Building
Completed the data entry for the 2022 democratic evaluation and tier determination of party members for the provincial party affairs system online and offline versions.
Participated in relevant meetings and training sessions:
(1) From March 21st to March 25th, mid-level cadres attended a session to study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
(2) On March 24th and 25th, relevant party branch secretaries attended the second training session for new grassroots party branch secretaries in 2023 organized by the Working Committee.
(3) Mid-level deputy leaders of the college completed routine learning and training in the fourth phase.
Party committee members sent representatives to participate in graduate branch activities at the Shenzhen Talent Park.
