Administration Personnel

On March 29th, the school convened the Human Resources Committee at the 1421 meeting room of the Zhiyuan Building to evaluate the ethical standards, teaching dedication, teaching achievements, teaching effectiveness, and public service completion of the applicants for promotion to the 2022 pre-employment/long-term teaching positions.

Undergraduate Teaching

  1. This week, the process assessment for the certification of normal student teachers was completed. Changes to the training plans of various departments were made, and the internship data of normal student teachers was reported on the national university internship platform. The first batch of graduating students' re-examination lists was submitted, and applications for postponement were reviewed and reported.

  2. On March 31st, the self-inspection of test papers for the second semester of the 2021-2022 academic year and the first semester of 2022-2023 academic year had been completed.

Graduate Work

  1. Organized teachers from the school to apply for three Guangdong provincial innovative projects for graduate education, namely: the 2023 Guangdong Provincial Degree and Graduate Education Reform Research Project, the 2023 Guangdong Province Professional Degree Teaching Case Library Construction Project, and the 2023 Guangdong Province Graduate Education Innovation Project.

  2. On April 1st, the school successfully completed the reexamination of 78 academic master's candidates and 76 professional master's candidates for the 2023 academic year.

  3. The school collected mentor contact records for 7 academic doctoral students who were intending to withdraw from their studies and submitted materials for the proposed withdrawal to the Graduate School.

Postdoctoral Work

  1. On March 30th, in response to notifications from the Bureau of Human Resources and the school, post needs for postdoctoral recruitment were collected. In total, the faculty and teams of our school submitted 11 postdoctoral position requirement forms.

  2. On March 31st, the application for the March Guangdong Overseas Postdoctoral Talent Support Program was completed. A total of 9 postdoctoral candidates applied from the Optical Engineering Postdoctoral Mobile Station (excluding micro-nano), including 1 applying for the first round of funding, 3 applying for the second round of funding, and 5 applying for continued support within Guangdong Province.

  3. Postdoctoral routine tasks: This week, approvals were granted for the entry applications of 2 postdoctoral researchers and the exit applications of 2 postdoctoral researchers. Additionally, 1 application for leaving school and 2 applications for extension were processed. Furthermore, over 20 applications were reviewed for topics, mid-term assessments, and completion defense. Routine foreign affairs tasks: This week, 6 faculty members' official overseas travel approvals were processed.

Scientific Research

  1. On March 28th, Elsevier released the 2022 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list, with our university's Professor Peng Xiang, Professor Wang Yiping, and Professor Zhang Han from the discipline of Optical Engineering being selected (a total of 33 scholars from our university were included in the list).

  2. On March 28th, Song Kexiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of China Nuclear Huajian, and Shi Qingwei, Secretary-General of the Digitalization and System Engineering Branch of the Chinese Nuclear Society, visited the China Institute of Nuclear Energy and Safety. Discussions and talks were held on the collaboration between industry, academia, research, school-enterprise cooperation, and market expansion. Liu Yong, the Dean of the China Institute of Nuclear Energy and Safety, led some teachers to attend the meeting.

  3. On March 28th, Wang Bao, Chairman and Party Secretary of Shenzhen Seg Group Co., Ltd., and Deng Weifeng, Project Manager of Shenzhen Special Information Co., Ltd., along with a group of six people, visited and conducted research and talks at the Guangdong-Hong Kong Joint Research Center for Optical Fiber Sensing Technology at Shenzhen University. Professors Wang Yiping, He Jun, Chen Yuhui, and others from the research center participated in the discussion.

  4. On March 31st, based on the notice for the 2023 Shenzhen "Most Beautiful Science and Technology Worker" study and publicity campaign sponsored by the Municipal Association for Science and Technology and the Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Committee, the college recommended one candidate for the "Most Beautiful Science and Technology Worker" to the university's Science and Technology Department.

Laboratory and Equipment Management

  1. To further standardize and strengthen the management of logistical fixed assets, in accordance with the requirements of relevant documents such as the "Notice from the Shenzhen Municipal Finance Bureau on Carrying out the Inventory of State-owned Assets in Administrative and Institutional Units," the college intends to conduct a comprehensive inventory and verification of the logistical fixed assets, with a focus on verifying whether the user and storage location information is accurate and whether labels are affixed in an orderly manner.

  2. The large-scale instrument virtual simulation interactive teaching project of the college's Experimental Teaching Center has been recommended as a case of smart education at Shenzhen University, and has been invited to participate in the compilation of typical cases for the construction and application of smart campuses (universities) in Shenzhen by the Shenzhen Higher Education Informatization Committee.

  3. The college's Experimental Teaching Center's virtual simulation smart education project has successfully entered the national finals of the first "IPv6 Technology Application Innovation Competition" organized by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology with the guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Central Cyberspace Administration, and the Ministry of Education, and is preparing to participate in the re-evaluation selection as one of the 150 projects nationwide to advance to the final.

  4. In accordance with the requirements of the university's Laboratory and State-owned Asset Management Department and the Planning and Finance Department, the college is to complete the submission of the first batch of government centralized procurement plan applications by March 31st, with a total of 15 plan applications amounting to over 200,000 yuan.

Student Affairs

  1. On the evening of March 29th, the college held a student backbone meeting for the League, Student Union, Innovation, and Research Association. Lin Jilin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Youth League, and relevant counselors attended the meeting, listened to the work plans and budget reports of various student organizations for this year, and provided feedback. Lin Jilin delivered a speech with overall requirements.

  2. On the afternoon of March 30th, the university held the seventh alumni work meeting, attended by the college's alumni work group leader, Lin Jilin, and others.

  3. On the afternoon of March 31st, the college held a special job fair titled "Elite in Optoelectronics, Flourishing Futures," with Deputy President Wang Yongcheng providing guidance. Lin Bing, the Secretary of the College’s Party Committee, Lin Jilin, the Deputy Secretary, and counselors responsible for undergraduate and graduate employment attended.

  4. On the evening of March 31st, the college held a student competition mobilization and event coaching meeting for "Internet Plus," attended by Lin Jilin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Zhang Min, Director of Innovation, and the Youth League counselors.

  5. This week, the college began preparations for the fifth Student Representative Conference of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering. Relevant matters were studied and approved by the college's Party Committee and the university's Student Union, and notices for the preparations were issued.

  6. On March 30th, 2023, the Office of Graduate Research Assistants held an online work meeting, and on March 31st, 2023, a meeting was held for part-time counselors.

Party Building and Party Affairs

  1. The discipline inspection commission participated in the selection of examiners for the graduate admissions interview and sent members to supervise the interview process.

  2. Participated in relevant meetings and training: (1) from March 27th to March 31st, mid-level cadres participated in the study and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (session 2); (2) On March 29th, the Secretary of the Party Committee, the Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, members and inspectors of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the college attended the deployment meeting for the rectification, education, and consolidation of the discipline inspection and supervision cadres of Shenzhen University.
