Administrative Affairs

Minutes of the Meeting: "Minutes of the Human Resources Committee" (Shenzhen University School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering Minutes [2023] No. 8).

Undergraduate Teaching Work

1. Collaborated with the Student Affairs Office to complete the academic warning and confirmation of the 2023 graduating class list, and arranged for the supervision of the teacher qualification written exams for the normal student teachers.

2. On April 7th, completed the registration for activities and preparation of recruitment materials for the high school visits to Shaanxi and Hubei provinces.

3. On April 7th, conducted the midterm examination scheduling for a total of 33 teaching classes and 2345 students in the courses of University Physics A (1), University Physics (B), and University Physics (C).

Graduate Work

1. Completed the first-choice admission reexamination for the 2023 master's degree students on April 1st. Our school intends to admit 154 master's degree students, including 17 in Physics, 61 in Optical Engineering, 7 in Instrumentation Engineering, and 69 in Optoelectronic Information Engineering.

2. On April 3rd, drafted and issued the "Work Regulations of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering for the Selection of Outstanding Graduate Theses in 2022" according to the "Trial Measures for the Selection of Outstanding Graduate Theses of Shenzhen University," clarifying the selection criteria and procedures.

3. On April 4th, submitted 82 academic master's degree theses, 27 academic doctoral theses (including secondary disciplines), and 119 professional master's degree theses for blind review.

4. Organized six training meetings for different roles in the reexamination process on April 6th-7th, emphasizing the discipline of reexamination and detailing the process and requirements to ensure the smooth and standardized conduct of the reexamination.

5. Collected application forms for midterm comprehensive assessments and related materials for compulsory courses from the 2021 level of Master of Science students and conducted reviews.

Postdoctoral Work

1. Started the registration and onboarding process for postdoctoral fellows in April 2023 on April 3rd. A total of 3 postdoctoral fellows registered this week. Among them, 2 newly recruited postdoctoral fellows from our school are all enterprise-cooperated postdoctoral fellows.

2. Routine affairs of postdoctoral fellows: This week, 3 applications for entry, 2 applications for exit, 3 applications for leaving the school, and 5 applications for extension were approved; more than 10 applications for opening, midterm, and final assessment defenses were reviewed.

Scientific Research

1. Held a seminar on the transformation of scientific research achievements on April 4th, chaired by Executive Dean Liu Yong. Leaders from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Telecommunications, Vice Dean Luo Jingting of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, and representatives from relevant teams attended. Discussions were conducted on the relevant scientific research achievements and the expansion of marketization. A compilation document on the transformation of achievements was formed after the meeting.

2. Recommended 8 candidates for major special consultation experts to the school's Department of Science and Technology according to the notice from the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of Science and Technology Innovation, which solicited candidates for the expert group for major special consultations.

3. On April 6th, Zhang Xiaowan from China National Nuclear Corporation Investment Group and her delegation visited Shenzhen University for exchange and discussion on the transformation of relevant achievements. Executive Dean Liu Yong and Vice Dean Luo Jingting of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering welcomed and hosted the delegation, recommending the research achievements of our school's scientific research team.

Laboratory and Equipment Management

1. On April 4th, the 2023 Shenzhen University self-made laboratory equipment fund project application was launched within the university; on April 6th, a self-examination and self-correction of laboratory safety was conducted within the university; in accordance with the school's work arrangements, preparations were made for the promotion of biosafety education on the National Security Education Day on April 15th.

2. On April 7th, the relevant teachers of the college laboratories were organized to participate in the 2023 Higher Education Laboratory Safety Inspection Launch and Training Conference held by the Science and Technology and Informationization Department and the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education.

Student Affairs

1. On the morning of April 6th, the college held a special symposium on the construction of the college website for the 40th anniversary of the school, discussing the improvement of website pages, enriching content, and publishing English articles. The Secretary of the College Party Committee, Lin Bing, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Lin Jilin, and other relevant responsible teachers attended the meeting, promoting the implementation of several specific tasks.

2. On the afternoon of April 7th, the college held the "Secretary's Afternoon Tea" activity where the Secretary of the Party Committee, Lin Bing, the Deputy Secretary, Lin Jilin, the Vice Dean, Wang Nan, and counseling teachers had a heart-to-heart conversation with student representatives over tea.

3. On the evening of April 7th, the College Graduate Party Branch and Graduate Student Union organized the "Run, Optics!" campus running event with the theme "A Boundless Dream with a Limited Run," open to all students of our college and welcoming students from sister colleges.

4. On April 8th, the Student Union of our college, in conjunction with the Student Affairs Center and sister colleges such as Civil Engineering and Telecommunications, organized the "Run, Shenzhen University People - Orienteering, Embracing the Spring" event, open to all students of the university.

5. On April 6th, 2023, a meeting of the Department of Research Symposium Ministers and the preparation meeting of the Li Research Forum were organized.

6. This week, the official public WeChat account of the college published a total of 13 articles and 1 video.

Party Building and Affairs

1. On April 7th, the Secretary of the College Discipline Inspection Commission, commission members, and inspectors participated in the offline study of the "Disciplinarian Talks about Discipline" lecture series. The theme of this session was "Corruption Governance in Singapore and Its Implications for China."

2. The Discipline Inspection Commission participated in the drawing of examiners for the graduate school admissions interviews and dispatched personnel to participate in the supervision of the interviews.

3. Submission of the college's new media self-inspection report and website management system.

4. In the afternoon of April 7th, the Party Committee sent representatives to have heart-to-heart conversations with two candidate members of the Guangxin third branch.
