Meeting Minutes Release: "Human Resources Committee - Pre-employment Assessment for Tenured and Full-time Teachers" (SUPOE Memo [2023] No. 11)

Undergraduate Teaching Work

1. On May 6th, finalized the draft of the 2023 brochure for the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering.

2. On May 6th, confirmed and submitted the assessment methods for the final 300 courses of the 2022-2023 second semester.

3. On May 10th, announced the results of the first batch of thesis defenses for the 2023 graduating class, with a total of 334 students participating.

4. On May 10th, Peng Weisa, Party Secretary and Principal of Hetai Middle School in Luhe County, along with Vice Principal Bai Zhenjiang and 48 high school students, visited the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Shenzhen University for an exchange visit. The Deputy Director of the Admissions Office, Zhu Lingyan, and the Vice Dean of the college, Wang Nan, gave presentations on the basic situation of Shenzhen University and the College of Physics and Optoelectronics to the visiting students and teachers. The event received significant attention and approval from the School Admissions Office.

5. Completed the submission of information for major transfers within the college; conducted the review, announcement, and submission of data for the school's teaching reform research projects for the current year (including meetings); submitted outstanding cases of higher education teaching reform for the current year; adjusted the training plans for seven majors according to the 2021 version and created and entered the 2023-level training plans for the college (including meetings).

Graduate Work

1. Compiled guidelines for completing the "Graduate Student Registration Form," distributed forms, and thesis covers. Also, prepared the application form for the Shenzhen University 2023 Graduate Education Reform Research Project.

2. Collected and organized the evaluations of teaching effectiveness and classroom inspection results for the 2022-2023 second semester, provided feedback via email to the graduate teachers of the semester, to enhance teaching quality.

3. Prepared operating instructions for the first-half 2023 thesis defense, student submission materials checklist, and explanatory documents. Conducted a detailed explanation to class leaders on degree application and defense procedures, addressing various queries. Applied for the Shenzhen University 2024 Summer School program.

4. Organized the submission of 4 projects for the university's 2023 degree construction projects, including 2 graduate teaching reform projects, 1 general graduate practice base project, and 1 key graduate practice base project.

5. Conducted written tests and interviews for the "Minority High-Level Backbone Talent Plan" for doctoral students in the Electronic Information professional degree program on May 11th and May 12th. Also, worked on seeking feedback for the draft of the "Shenzhen University Research Project Funds Distribution Method for Doctoral Graduate Special Enrollment Plan."

6. Summarized the blind review results for Master's, Specialized Master's, and Doctoral degree theses, selected lists related to four special cases published by the Graduate School, and collected mentor and degree program reports on thesis review results. Of the students who applied for degrees this semester, 82 academic Master's students and 24 academic Doctoral students (Level One) had their thesis review recommendations as "Agree to Defense" or "Defense after Revision," smoothly proceeding to the defense phase. Additionally, 1 academic Doctoral student did not pass the blind review, and 2 academic Doctoral students are still in the blind review process. For the 119 professional Master's students who applied for degrees this semester, their thesis review opinions were either "Agree to Defense" or "Defense after Revision," smoothly progressing to the defense stage.

Post-doctoral Work

1. On May 4th, 2023, the post-doctoral onboarding registration work for May commenced. A total of 6 post-doctoral fellows completed their onboarding registration.

2. Post-doctoral daily affairs: 2 post-doctoral entry applications were approved, 6 exit applications were processed, 5 post-doctoral leave applications were handled, and 5 extension applications were processed. Over 20 applications for opening, mid-term assessment, and final defense were reviewed.

Scientific Research

1. On May 5th, the college assisted the National Key Laboratory of RF Heterogeneous and Heterogeneous Integrated Circuits in confirming the research direction of our researchers.

2. On May 6th, the college submitted the list of patent funding applications for the Shenzhen Municipality for the years 2020-2022 to the school's Science and Technology Department.

3. On May 10th, the college submitted the 2022 annual execution report of the Shenzhen Municipality's stable support project for the project funded in 2021 to the school's Science and Technology Department.

Laboratory and Equipment Management

1. On May 8th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education held a "5G+ Smart Education" pilot project work promotion meeting (offline + online) in Beijing. Vice Dean Wu Honglei and Associate Director Xu Guiwen attended the online meeting at the Shenzhen Communication Administration Bureau venue as project leaders. During the meeting, the leaders of the Shenzhen Communication Administration Bureau fully affirmed the progress of our project and expressed full support. Approximately 370 representatives attended the meeting at the main venue in Beijing and various branch venues.

2. On May 12th, the application work for the 2023 Shenzhen University's self-made experimental equipment fund project was completed. The college submitted 5 proposed projects to the Laboratory and State-owned Assets Management Department.

3. Continued mid-term inspections for the 2022 Shenzhen University Student Innovation Development Fund basic experimental projects this week. The teaching experimental center inspected 46 student projects during this round.

4. Assisted the college in organizing alumni return-to-campus open day activities, opening the 713 Computer Control Laboratory and the 714 Analog Digital Electronics Laboratory for alumni visits. Assisted the school in building a laboratory safety inspection system and improving relevant information.

Student Affairs

1. On May 4th, the university student union organized the annual evaluation and assessment meeting for grassroots Youth League secretaries in 2022. Deputy Party Secretary Lin Jilin attended the meeting. At the meeting, the Youth League Secretary of the college, Zhang Peng, made a live report on strengthening ideological and political guidance, implementing main responsibilities, strengthening grassroots construction of the Youth League, advancing the "lifeline project," contacting and serving young people, safeguarding youth rights, the work progress of the party and government center, enhancing overall contributions, implementing comprehensive and strict governance of the Youth League, and promoting deep reform of the Communist Youth League.

2. On May 6th, the college held a meeting to prepare for the graduation party and shoot videos for the school's anniversary celebration. All counselors, members of the Youth League, members of the graduate student union, and class representatives of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral graduation classes attended the meeting.

3. On May 8th and May 12th, the college held counselor work meetings, specifically deploying preparations for the alumni return-to-campus day. Deputy Party Secretary Lin Jilin made specific arrangements and deployments during the meeting, and all responsible counselors attended.

4. On May 9th, counselor Xie Haowei organized the fourth preparatory meeting for the Liren Forum online with the chairpersons and ministers.

5. On May 10th, Deputy Secretary Lin Jilin attended the 12th anniversary preparation meeting organized by the school. Secretary Li Qingquan attended the meeting and provided guidance on organizing anniversary activities that would satisfy alumni from each college.

6. On May 13th, the college held a series of activities for "Alumni Return-to-Campus Day." This included holding the first alumni representative conference and establishing the alumni association, setting up reception points for returning alumni, organizing alumni work experience sharing and exchange meetings, arranging for alumni to watch the 40th-anniversary celebration video, organizing alumni visits to college laboratories, and arranging for returning alumni to have dinner at the Ting Shan Restaurant. Vice President Li Yonghua, Director of the Alumni Contact Department He Yanhui, Party Committee Secretary Lin Bing, Executive Dean Liu Yong, Professor Lin Xiaodong, Vice Deans Wang Nan and Sun Yiling, and Deputy Secretary Lin Jilin participated in the related activities.

Party Building and Party Affairs

1.On the morning of May 5, the college carried out a concentrated study and discussion on the theme of education, and members of the theoretical study center group of the college party committee participated. The main contents included Comrade Lin Jilin leading the study of Selected Works of Xi Jinping", Secretary Lin Bing making a keynote speech and members conducting exchanges and discussions.

2. On May 6, the college leaders participated in the Shenzhen Universitys study and implementation of Xi Jinpings new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics theme education reading class (second session) and concentrated study and discussion.

3.Submit the Statistical Table of Investigation and Research Topics of Middle-level and Above Leaders of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and List of Peoples Livelihood (Projects) of Shenzhen University - School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering to the Organization Department.

4.On May 10, the college leaders participated in the Shenzhen University study and implementation of Xi Jinpings new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics theme education reading class (third session) concentrated study and discussion activities in the No. 1 lecture hall of Huixing Building, Yuehai Campus.

5.On May 12, the theoretical study center group of the college party committee carried out a special concentrated study and discussion on Study and implement Xi Jinpings new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and promote the whole schools investigation and research to see results. Wang Nan led the study of Xi Jinpings excerpts on investigation and research, Sun Yiling and Wu Honglei made keynote speeches, and other participants exchanged and discussed.

6.From May 8th to May 10th, coordinated with the school working group to carry out preparations for cadre inspection and discussions, as well as other related tasks. On May 11th, participated in cadre inspection and discussion work with the school working group, with 53 people taking part in the discussions.

7.On June 5th, conducted video filming of the achievements in party building at the departmental level for the campus benchmarking project.
