Administrative Affairs

Publication of College Document: "Decision on the Division of Duties of the Leadership Team of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering" (SDU-PHYS〔2023〕No.3)

Undergraduate Teaching Work

  1. On June 12th, the university held a training and mobilization meeting on the 2023 undergraduate enrollment policy. All members of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering's enrollment promotion team attended.

  2. On June 14th, participated in the university's coordination meeting for the 2023 campus open day, arranging and deploying the work for this year's campus open day.

  3. On June 14th, convened a meeting to mobilize internships for the Department of Physics and the Department of Nuclear Engineering, explaining and deploying internship work.

  4. On June 23rd, the college dispatched more than 40 people to participate in offline enrollment promotion activities at key middle schools in Hubei and Shaanxi provinces, as well as in Shantou and Shanwei in Guangdong province.

  5. On June 24th, the 2023 campus open day of Shenzhen University concluded successfully. Vice Dean Wen Qiao delivered a recruitment lecture for our college. Directors, deputy directors, and all staff from the Academic Affairs Office were stationed at consultation points, providing enrollment consultation and answers to visiting students and parents. At the branch venue, Professor Zhang Xiaoming gave a public lecture on "Photoelectric Effect and Its Applications" and conducted tours of the clean room laboratory at the Institute of Optoelectronics. Professors Jing Liqing, Huang Jianheng, and Pang Bo provided explanations during the laboratory tours, and the response was enthusiastic.

Graduate Work

  1. Completed the compilation of the 2024 master's degree enrollment professional directory. Professional degree enrollment programs have been unified without distinguishing directions, while academic degree enrollment programs temporarily retain professional directions.

  2. Reported the arrangements for the final exams of the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year for graduate students. Reminded each course instructor about the change in exam assessment method to thesis evaluation for this semester, and informed the 2022 cohort of graduate students about the exam arrangements and precautions for each course.

  3. Compiled and submitted application materials and various interview materials for doctoral candidates in the fields of electronic information professional degree and electronic information professional degree under the "Minority High-level Talents Plan".

  4. Issued appointment letters to three professional master's external supervisors approved by the College Degree Committee on May 25th, 2023, and to 11 external supervisors for professional doctoral degrees approved by the Degree Committee for Electronic Information Professional Degrees.

  5. Released announcements on the 2024 summer school registration through our college's WeChat public account and carried out vigorous publicity.

  6. Forwarded the notice from the Graduate School on "Doing a Good Job in Maintaining the Qualifications of Master's Supervisors in the Graduate Student System" and sent emails to internal teachers to collect relevant materials for supervisor qualification declaration simultaneously.

Postdoctoral Work

  1. From June 12th to 15th, a total of 4 postdoctoral fellows completed their registration. Among them, 2 new postdoctoral fellows joined our college.

  2. On June 19th, in accordance with the university's instructions, the files of 5 postdoctoral fellows in the college were verified. Notifications were sent to postdoctoral fellows whose files were not yet submitted, requesting explanations for the delay and prompt completion of the file transfer process.

  3. On June 21st, in accordance with the document "Management Measures for the Admission of Foreign Students to Pursue Doctoral Degrees at Shenzhen University (Trial)", subsidies for June were distributed to international doctoral students for the year 2023, with each receiving 3333 yuan. A total of 34 international doctoral students from our college received subsidies for June.

  4. Routine affairs of postdoctoral fellows: This week, approvals were granted for 6 applications for postdoctoral entry, 9 applications for exit, 7 applications for leave, and 7 applications for extension. Over 50 applications for opening, mid-term, and final assessments were reviewed. Routine foreign affairs matters: This week, 8 approvals were granted for faculty members traveling abroad for official or personal reasons.

Scientific Research

  1. On June 12th, the Advanced Sensing Technology Forum jointly organized by Shenzhen University and China Nuclear Power Institute was successfully held at the Hua Yang base of the Nuclear Power Institute. At the invitation of Li Pengzhou, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, four professors from Shenzhen University's Guangdong Joint Research Center for Optical Fiber Sensing Technology, namely Professor Wang Yiping, Professor Liao Changrui, Professor He Jun, and Associate Professor Liu Shen, visited the Nuclear Power Institute for investigation.

  2. On June 15th, Li Pengzhou, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, led a delegation of 11 people to visit Shenzhen University and held discussions at the China Institute of Nuclear Energy and Safety (CINES). Liu Yong, Dean of CINES, Luo Jingting, Executive Dean, Wu Zongze, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and professors Liu Fusheng, Li Junqin, and Associate Professor Zou Jizhao from the School of Materials participated in the discussion.

  3. On June 15th, Zhang Jiefeng, Deputy Director of the University's Science and Technology Department, came to the college to investigate the application status of this year's National Key R&D Program projects. Representatives from the college's research teams and young researchers participated in the discussion. Vice Dean Liu Liwei encouraged our researchers to actively lead or participate in applying for National Key R&D Program projects.

  4. On June 16th, the University's Science and Technology Department announced the proposed results of the 2024 Shenzhen Key Laboratory project review. The Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Nuclear and Radiation Safety proposed by our Nuclear Institute was recommended by the university for application.

  5. On June 16th, the nomination work for the four categories of the 2023 Shenzhen Science and Technology Awards (Mayor's Award, Natural Science Award, Technical Invention Award, and Technological Progress Award) concluded. Our research teams applied for seven scientific and technological awards in three categories. In addition, one of our faculty members applied for the Shenzhen Youth Science and Technology Award.

Laboratory and Equipment Management

1.On June 16th, the Teaching Experiment Center of the College completed the collection of "Experimental Project Cards" for the 2023 Shenzhen University Student Innovation and Development Fund Basic Experimental Projects, submitting a total of 32 experimental project cards to the Laboratory and State-owned Assets Management Department.

2.The proposed projects for the 2023 Shenzhen University self-made experimental instruments and equipment fund were publicly announced. Four teachers from our college, including Wang Shixing, were approved for project establishment. Our college is one of the units with the highest number of approved projects in the whole school.

3.On June 21st, the conclusion of the research fund for laboratory and equipment management for the year 2022 was completed. Our college applied for the conclusion of a total of three projects.

4.On June 21st, a special meeting on the renovation of the old school building laboratory was held by the Logistics Support Department of the school. The progress and existing issues of the laboratory renovation were discussed. Vice Dean Wu Honglei and relevant teachers from the college attended the meeting and exchanged views.

5.On June 21st, a delegation from Beijing Zhongke Haodian Technology Co., Ltd. visited the Teaching Experiment Center of the college. Vice Dean Wu Honglei, Deputy Director Xu Guiwen, and others received the delegation, and in-depth discussions were held on the construction of digital teaching in undergraduate laboratories.

6.This week, all professional experimental courses for this semester at the Teaching Experiment Center of the college have been completed. This semester, 14 experimental courses, including Fundamentals of Circuit Analysis, were completed, involving 39 teaching classes.

Student Affairs

  1. On June 11th, the College Student Union and the Volunteers Association held an election meeting at the No.1 Lecture Hall of Huixing Building. Lin Bing, the Secretary of the College Party Committee, Vice Secretary Long Xiaoli, and the former Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee Lin Jilin attended the meeting to provide guidance.

  2. On June 14th, the college held a meeting for counselor work. The meeting, presided over by Vice Secretary Long Xiaoli, discussed the integration of dormitories, enterprise visits for students, and home-school communication. All full-time counselors attended the meeting.

  3. On June 14th, the establishment ceremony of the Psychological Health Association of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and the first workshop of the association were held in the Zhiyuan Building conference room. Lin Jilin, the former Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee and head of the preparatory work for the Psychological Health Association, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Guidance teachers Huang Wei and Liu Pengjuan, core members of the association, and college psychological counselors also attended the meeting. Additionally, Assistant Professor Fan Jialin from the School of Psychology at Shenzhen University was invited to conduct a workshop on stress and fatigue management strategies for the association.

  4. On June 14th, the college conducted the 16th Career Workshop online for the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, focusing on the theme "Journey of Innovation Education System Signing". Experience sharing was provided by postgraduate student Weng Zipeng from the 2020 class of Electronic Information and undergraduate student Liao Jiahui from the Physics department.

  5. On June 18th, the college received sponsorship totaling 18,000 yuan from the President of the College Alumni Association Wei Feng, the Executive Vice President and Secretary-General Wang Yubiao, and the Executive Director Li Wei, for the college's 2023 graduation ceremony. On the afternoon of June 20th, the first meeting of the Executive Council of the College Alumni Association was successfully held at Room 1421 of Zhiyuan Building. Secretary of the Party Committee Lin Bing, Vice Secretary Long Xiaoli, Deputy Secretary and Honorary Secretary-General of the Law School Party Committee Lin Jilin, President and Chairman of the Executive Council Wei Feng, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General Wang Yubiao, and all members of the Executive Council attended the meeting.

  6. On June 19th, the college held the 17th Career Workshop online for the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, focusing on the theme "Sharing Experience in Civil Service Examinations". Experience sharing was provided by undergraduate student Zhou Kaiyao from the 2020 class of Physics and Lin Yue from the Optoelectronic Engineering major.

  7. On June 20th, the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering held the 2023 Graduation Ceremony and Graduation Party. Vice President Li Yonghua of Shenzhen University, Secretary of the College Party Committee Lin Bing, Executive Dean Liu Yong, the college leadership team, faculty representatives, and outstanding alumni representatives attended the event.

  8. On June 21st, the college arranged for a group photo session for the graduating class of 2023 in the Zhiyuan Building.

  9. This week, students were organized to sign up for the torch relay event of the Chengdu Universiade held on June 20th. Among them, 40 undergraduate students and 30 graduate students (including 10 students from the micro-nano program) participated in the event.

Party Building Affairs

1.On June 14, Dean Liu Yong gave a lecture on the ideological and political education of the theme of learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to the college counselors, undergraduate, master and doctoral student cadres and party activists. 40 people participated in the course.

2.On June 16, the theoretical study center group of the college party committee carried out a special study and discussion on "Learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and promoting the in-depth development of comprehensive and strict party governance in our school. Comrade Wang Yiping led the study of On the Partys Self-Revolution, Comrade Liu Liwei and Comrade Long Xiaoli made keynote speeches, and other members of the meeting exchanged and discussed.

3.On June 16, a party committee meeting was held. The first topic was to study Xi Jinping listened to the work report of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government and delivered an important speech. The meeting adjusted the "List of Members of the Theme Education Leading Group, discussed and passed the Rectification List and "Special Rectification Plan

4.On June 19th, underwent inspection by the school's thematic education guidance group.

5.Reviewed and processed 50 files for the development targets of the 2023 graduates; transferred and archived 78 files for the Communist Party members among the 2023 graduates.
