On the afternoon of December 13th, the 2024 Shenzhen University Young Scientists Forum—Youth Scientist Sub-Forum of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering was successfully held at College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Southern Yuehai Campus, Shenzhen University. The forum featured outstanding young scholars from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Cornell University, the Institute for Basic Biomedical Sciences in Korea, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, who presented exciting academic reports through both online and offline formats. The sub-forum was chaired by Liu Liwei, the Executive Vice Dean of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, with participation from the school's leadership, standing members of the professor committee, department heads, and faculty representatives.

In opening ceremony, Executive Vice Dean Liu Liwei warmly welcomed the guests from both home and abroad. She then provided a detailed introduction to the college, covering aspects such as discipline development, national-level talent, faculty team, scientific research, academic programs, and international cooperation.

Vice Dean Luo Jingtian gave a comprehensive introduction to the college’s recruitment positions, including Overseas Distinguished Young Scholars, the Thousand Talents Plan, and tenure-track faculty appointments. During the special reports session, the young scholars delivered keynote speeches based on their professional research achievements, sharing and interpreting the latest academic advancements in their respective fields, and engaging in multifaceted discussions with the attendees.

Secretary Lin Bing delivered the closing remarks. On behalf of the college’s leadership, he sincerely welcomed the guests from home and abroad, expressing hope that the scholars would join Shenzhen University and contribute their talents to further the development of the university.

The sub-forum concluded successfully in a lively atmosphere. Shenzhen University, with its free academic environment, abundant financial support, and comfortable living conditions, looks forward to the addition of more young scholars to help write a brilliant chapter in the field of scientific research.
