On December 5th, a delegation from College of Media Engineering, Communication Univerisity of Zhejiang (referred to as “Zhejiang Media Engineering”) visited the College of Physics and Optical Engineering, Shenzhen University (referred to as “College of Physics and Optoelectronics”). The meeting took place in Room 1421 of Zhiyuan Building. Present at the meeting were: Yu Dingguo, Dean of Zhejiang Media Engineering; Chang Qing, Head of the Master’s Program in Electronic Information; Xu Zhiqi, Assistant to the Dean; and Gao Yingying, Administrative Staff. From the College of Physics and Optoelectronics, attendees included Lin Bing, Party Secretary; Liu Liwei, Executive Vice Dean; Wen Qiao, Vice Dean; Lei Lei, Head of the Department of Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering; Cai Houzhi, Head of the Department of Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments; and Li Xiaoyu, Deputy Head of the same department. The meeting was chaired by Liu Liwei.
The meeting began with the introduction of the participants from both sides. Liu Liwei, on behalf of the College of Physics and Optoelectronics, warmly welcomed the visiting delegation. Following this, both parties introduced their respective schools. Wen Qiao provided a comprehensive overview of the College of Physics and Optoelectronics, covering aspects such as faculty strength, undergraduate programs, admissions, curriculum structure, discipline development, research teams, results transformation and application, as well as international exchange and cooperation. Yu Dingguo gave a detailed introduction to Zhejiang Media Engineering, discussing the college’s educational history, faculty, student body, admissions, and graduate employment.
In the open discussion session, both sides focused their attention on key issues such as talent development, curriculum design, admissions and publicity, and faculty development. The delegation from Zhejiang Media Engineering also raised questions regarding their main areas of interest, including the school model of future technology institutes, the evaluation criteria and elimination system for excellence classes, and the management of student competition funding. They also shared their thoughts and suggestions on these matters. All participants were encouraged to speak freely, share their insights, and offer valuable suggestions on education and teaching.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Lin Bing gave a summarizing speech. He once again warmly welcomed the delegation from Zhejiang Media Engineering. He noted that the exchange deepened mutual understanding between the two institutions and was highly beneficial in terms of sharing educational and teaching experiences. Looking forward, both parties expressed their intention to continue close and fruitful communication, hoping to seize more opportunities for collaboration and exchange in both teaching and research.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with both groups taking a final group photo to commemorate the occasion.
