On December 29, 2024, the First National Teaching Case Competition for Teachers in Electronic Information Majors was successfully held at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. This competition attracted 457 teams from 155 universities across 29 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions in China, making the competition highly intense. The participating team from the Optoelectronic Teaching Laboratory Center of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University, composed of Professors Xu Guiwen, Wu Honglei, and Li Hui, won the second prize for their outstanding performance, bringing honor to the university.
The competition was jointly organized by the China Electronics Education Association, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and the Ministry of Education’s Virtual Teaching Research Office for Electronic Information Majors, and was guided by the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Steering Committee for Electronic Information Majors in Higher Education. The theme of the competition was “Innovative Smart Teaching, Enhancing Digital Literacy”. The event aimed to promote the digital and intelligent transformation of higher education, fully showcasing innovative achievements in smart education practices while providing a broad platform for educators to exchange and learn, inspiring teachers to continuously update their educational concepts, optimize teaching methods, and actively respond to the challenges and opportunities brought by the digital age.
The participating case from the Optoelectronic Teaching Laboratory Center of Shenzhen University— “AI Empowerment: From Verification-based to Inquiry-based Experimental Teaching Application”—focused on the intelligent application and deep integration of artificial intelligence technology in experimental teaching of optoelectronics at universities. The case demonstrated the innovative practices and exploratory spirit of Shenzhen University’s teachers in the field of smart education, fully reflecting the university's solid foundation and forward-looking vision in the digital transformation of education, and also providing valuable experiences and insights for the reform of higher education in China.
