On March 25th, the award ceremony for the “Lianying-Niu Hanben” Scholarship of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Shenzhen University was successfully held in Conference Room 1101, Zhiyuan Building. The event was attended by Mr. Lu Guojie, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Lianying Laser Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Lianying Laser”), Mr. Lin Bing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering (hereinafter referred to as “the College”), Ms. Long Xiaoli, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, faculty representatives, and nine award-winning students.

The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Long Xiaoli.At the beginning of the ceremony, Ms. Long extended a warm welcome to the guests from Lianying Laser on behalf of the College, offered sincere congratulations to the outstanding students, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Lianying Laser for its commitment to social responsibility and strong support for nurturing young talents. She then introduced the company representatives and the award-winning students one by one.

Mr. Lu Guojie, speaking as a representative of the enterprise, noted that the College and Lianying Laser have maintained a deep cooperative relationship for 20 years. The establishment of the “Lianying-Niu Hanben” Scholarship is both a tribute to Academician Niu Hanben for his tireless efforts and outstanding contributions in scientific research and education, and an encouragement for students of the College to inherit the academic spirit of Academician Niu — fostering a mindset of diligence, perseverance, and innovative thinking. He expressed his hope that more students would take Academician Niu as their role model, courageously climb the peaks of optoelectronic technology, and pursue their dreams with passion, making youthful contributions to the country’s technological self-reliance and social development.

Following the speech, student representatives Li Zelong (graduate student) and Li Weibang (undergraduate student) delivered their remarks. Li Zelong expressed heartfelt thanks to the College faculty for their guidance and to Lianying Laser for their generous support. With great enthusiasm, he stated his determination to forge ahead on the path of scientific research and strive to become a ray of hope in China’s optoelectronics industry. Li Weibang regarded the honor as recognition of his hard work and perseverance and, even more so, as a call to continue chasing his dreams. He encouraged his peers to take this achievement as a new starting point, to journey side by side in pursuit of knowledge, to bring glory to the College, and to contribute to social progress through their efforts.

Afterward, Mr. Lu Guojie and Mr. Lin Bing jointly presented awards to the outstanding students.

As a token of appreciation for Lianying Laser’s long-standing support of the College’s talent development efforts, Mr. Lin Bing and Ms. Long Xiaoli, on behalf of all faculty and students, presented commemorative plaques featuring the university and college emblems, symbolizing the enduring partnership and mutual progress between the two sides and expressing their hopes for future cooperation and shared growth.

Finally, Mr. Lin Bing delivered the closing speech. He once again expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Lianying Laser for its care and continuous support for the College’s students and for actively fulfilling its social responsibilities. He emphasized that the scholarship is not only a material reward for students’ academic excellence but also a spiritual beacon encouraging them to devote themselves to the nation’s development in the future. Reflecting on Academician Niu’s outstanding contributions, Mr. Lin encouraged all students to uphold and carry forward the academic rigor and selfless mentoring spirit embodied by Academician Niu, and to pursue excellence unremittingly on their scientific journey. Looking to the future, he expressed the hope that the College and Lianying Laser would continue to deepen their cooperation, promote the integration of industry, academia, and research, and jointly create a new chapter of collaborative development and mutual success.
