On March 21, 2025, Liu Liwei, Executive Vice Dean of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Shenzhen University, led a delegation including Vice Deans Wu Honglei and Luo Jingting, along with Professor Cai Houzhi, Head of the Measurement and Control Department, to visit the School of Intelligent Engineering at Shaoguan University for a cooperation and exchange meeting. This visit marked the official beginning of a new chapter in deep collaboration between the two institutions, signifying an important step forward in their joint efforts within the field of education. Huang Changzheng, Dean of the School of Intelligent Engineering at Shaoguan University, extended a warm welcome to Executive Vice Dean Liu Liwei and her delegation. He provided a detailed introduction to the school’s development, academic programs, and faculty structure.


Executive Vice Dean Liu Liwei expressed her strong expectations and commitment to fostering close cooperation between the two schools, and proposed that both sides will carry out in-depth collaboration in areas such as teaching, scientific research, and discipline development. Vice Dean Luo Jingting then introduced the general profile of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Shenzhen University, offering an overview of its programs and strengths. Vice Dean Wu Honglei introduced the college’s innovative educational resource — The Pocket Lab: AI-Driven Virtual Experimental Cloud Courses — and held a ceremony to officially present and share these resources with the School of Intelligent Engineering.


After the meeting, the delegation participated in the launching ceremony of the SZU-SGU Academic Mentor Program and the appointment ceremony for specially invited visiting professors. They also visited the South China Study Exhibition Hall at Shaoguan University to learn about the educational history of South China and northern Guangdong. Looking ahead, both institutions will unite their strengths, focus their efforts, and work hand in hand to advance the development of education in both regions to new heights.
