Graduate Supervisor Training Lecture on Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the Degree Law and the Requirements of Shenzhen University’s Rules for Degree Awarding Successfully Held by the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering

To further study and implement the spirit of the Degree Law and fully grasp the requirements of Shenzhen University’s Rules for Degree Awarding recently issued by the university, the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University successfully held a special training lecture on April 25. The lecture invited Associate Professor Gao Junjie from the Law School of Shenzhen University as the keynote speaker, delivering an in-depth and accessible professional training session for the college’s graduate supervisors.

At the beginning of the lecture, Associate Professor Gao Junjie first elaborated on the legislative background, basic content, and core spirit of the Degree Law. She emphasized that the introduction of the Degree Law marks a new stage of legalization for China’s degree system, which is of great significance for improving the quality of degree awarding and cultivating high-level innovative talents. Meanwhile, combining with the actual situation of Shenzhen University, Professor Gao provided a detailed interpretation of the specific application of the Degree Law in degree-related work at colleges and universities.

Subsequently, Professor Gao focused on explaining Shenzhen University’s newly released Rules for Degree Awarding. She conducted a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the Rules from aspects such as degree awarding qualifications, conditions, procedures, and quality assurance. She particularly emphasized the autonomy and responsibilities of degree-awarding units in formulating specific standards for degree awarding in various disciplines and majors, as well as the importance of strengthening quality management throughout the entire process of enrollment, training, and degree awarding. In addition, Professor Gao elaborated on the protection of the rights and interests of degree applicants and recipients, providing valuable guidance and suggestions for graduate supervisors. During the lecture, Associate Professor Gao Junjie not only explained theoretical knowledge in depth but also conducted vivid analyses with practical cases. Through a series of specific cases, graduate supervisors gained a more intuitive understanding of the application of the Degree Law and Rules for Degree Awarding in practical operations, and were guided to reflect on how to better implement these regulations in their daily work.

The successful holding of this training lecture not only provided a valuable learning opportunity for graduate supervisors but also laid a solid foundation for the college to further strengthen degree awarding work and improve the quality of talent cultivation.
