On the morning of May 17, the second general meeting of the first board of directors of the Alumni Association of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering，Shenzhen University was grandly held in the Studio Auditorium of Zhili Building, Canghai Campus. The entire first board of directors of the alumni association, as well as representatives from the school and the college faculty, attended the meeting.

The conference was hosted by Wang Yubiao, the executive vice president and secretary-general of the alumni association. As the solemn national anthem played, the meeting was officially opened.

Lin Zhixiong, the deputy director of the Alumni Liaison Department, warmly welcomed the alumni board members who attended the conference. He reviewed the development history of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and sincerely thanked the alumni for their long-term support to the school and the college. On behalf of the Alumni Liaison Department, he expressed three expectations for the alumni association.Firstly, to deepen the alumni liaison mechanism and smooth communication channels.Secondly, to improve the construction of communication platforms and create a multi-dimensional interactive system.Thirdly, he hoped alumni would contribute to the development of their alma mater through intellectual support, resource connections, and other means. He looks forward to achieving complementary advantages and resource sharing through in-depth cooperation between alumni and the alma mater, creating a new situation of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.

Lin Bing, the Party Secretary of the college, warmly welcomed the leaders, alumni board members, and faculty representatives present and sincerely thanked the Alumni Liaison Department for its strong support for the college’s alumni work. He pointed out that since its establishment two years ago, the alumni association has achieved many results in integrating alumni resources, promoting interaction between alumni and the college, and driving industry-academia-research cooperation, earning widespread praise among faculty and students. He emphasized that the alumni association is an important link connecting the college and its alumni and plays a key role in promoting communication and cooperation. As the college celebrates its 40th anniversary, he called on all members to unite their efforts to drive the continued development of the alumni association and sincerely invited alumni to return to the college to celebrate the anniversary. Finally, he wished the meeting great success.

Wei Feng, president of the Alumni Association, expressed sincere thanks in his speech to the alumni board members, college leaders, and faculty for their long-standing support for alumni work. Wei Feng fondly recalled that two years ago, riding on the momentum of the 40th anniversary of the school, the first alumni association of the college was established. He took on the responsibility of president entrusted by the college. Over the past two years, the alumni association has achieved many results, which Wei Feng systematically reviewed. On the occasion of the college’s 40th anniversary, the alumni association will closely align its work with the theme of the anniversary and comprehensively promote related tasks. He called on all board members to unite their strength to jointly push for the development of the alumni association and give back to the college through practical actions, helping the college achieve high-quality development.

Liu Guidong, the executive deputy secretary-general of the alumni association, gave a detailed introduction to the WeChat public account platform construction, including content operation strategies, promotion and dissemination plans, and the team members of the operation.

Chen Zhizhu, the executive director of the alumni association, introduced the background of the alumni fund’s establishment, its donation sources, current fund operations, and future plans for fund use, under the theme“Gather Alumni Strength to Build the Foundation for the Future”.

Zhang Zhitian, vice president of the alumni association, spoke as an alumni representative. He fully showcased his entrepreneurial journey, including his company’s qualifications, representative project outcomes, and key cooperation partners. He also shared his insights on various aspects of entrepreneurship, including choosing the entrepreneurial direction, adjusting the mindset, selecting business partners, and maintaining determination, providing valuable inspiration and fresh ideas for the audience.

Currently, his company is undertaking key technological research projects in Shenzhen, such as the Shenzhen Municipal Technological Innovation Key Project and the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Major Special Project (Sustainable Development Special), and is conducting industrial research projects on flat scan X-ray imaging measurement instruments, visual nanoparticle concentration detectors, multi-channel fluorescence microscopy white blood cell classification systems, multi-modal intelligent traffic monitoring systems, and visual-guided flexible robotic laser cleaning systems.

Liu Liwei, the executive vice dean of the college, comprehensively introduced the college’s development from aspects such as its history, faculty team, program offerings, research platforms, discipline construction, talent cultivation, research progress, and international exchanges and cooperation.She also introduced several representative research teams of the college from the perspective of industry-academia-research cooperation, allowing the alumni board members, who graduated years ago, to gain a more systematic and in-depth understanding of the college’s development over the past 40 years.

Later, Lin Zhixiong and Liu Liwei awarded appointment letters to Liu Guidong, the new executive deputy secretary-general of the alumni association, as well as to Zhang Peng, Xie Haowei, Zheng Xiaodong, Chen Weijun, and Zhang Qian, the new directors. Liu Yong (Dean of the Graduate School) and Lin Bing presented donation certificates to alumni Wei Feng, Liu Guidong, Li Wei, Zhou Zhongwei, and Zhang Zhitian for their generous donations.

Finally, all participants took a group photo, marking the successful conclusion of the second general meeting of the first board of directors of the Alumni Association of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering. This meeting further built a bridge for in-depth communication between the alumni and the college, injecting new momentum into their communication and cooperation. On the occasion of the college’s 40th anniversary, the college will work hand-in-hand with the alumni association to jointly advance the high-quality development of the college to a new level.
