The Joint Course Embedded System Development and Practice Between the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and Zhaoyi Innovation, Hard Egg Industry Academy Achieves Great Success

From September 6 to 27, 2025, the “Intelligent Perception and Motion Control” micro-major of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Shenzhen University, successfully launched the industry-education integration course, Embedded System Development and Practice, in collaboration with Zhaoyi Innovation and Hard Egg Industry Academy. The course was held at the Zhi Yuan Building 611 Laboratory in the Yuehai Campus.

The course was organized and taught by Zhaoyi Innovation engineer Chen Liujian, Liu Hao (Educational Ecological Leader of Shenzhen Keton Technology Co., Ltd./Hard Egg Industry Academy), engineer Li Jiahao, and teachers from the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, including Tian Jindong, Tian Yong, and Meng Bo. Over 30 students from the “Intelligent Perception and Motion Control” micro-major participated in the course.

Week 1: Introduction to Embedded Development

In the first week, the instructors provided a systematic overview of the MCU development history, firmware library applications, and the setup of development toolchains. They thoroughly explained the internal structure of microcontrollers and briefly introduced Zhaoyi Innovation’s GD32 series products, guiding students to configure the GD32 development environment. Students gained an intuitive understanding and overall knowledge of embedded system development and the composition and principles of microcontrollers.

Week 2: Clock and Peripheral Control

In the second week, the instructors focused on the RCU clock system and GPIO peripheral modules. They explained clock system configuration methods and the logic for accessing and controlling GPIO peripherals. During the hands-on session, students applied their knowledge immediately, completing experiments such as “Button Control of LED Lights” and “Running LED Lights”, thereby mastering basic operations of hardware peripherals in embedded systems.

Week 3: Communication Protocol Practice

In the third week, the instructors covered the UART/I2C peripheral modules, guiding students to implement functions such as “UART Serial Port Printing” in the practical session. This deepened the students' understanding of data interaction in embedded systems.

Week 4: Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) Practice

In the fourth week, the focus was on the principles and configuration methods of the ADC module. In the practical session, students successfully configured the ADC module on the microcontroller, achieving functions such as “Collecting Pin Voltage Conversion” and “Real-time Display of Pin Voltage on an OLED Screen”.

Throughout the course, students were enthusiastic, actively asking questions during classes and engaging in discussions after sessions. Through this course, they not only gained fundamental knowledge in GD32 embedded system development but also enhanced their practical skills and fostered innovative thinking. This laid a solid foundation for their future participation in high-level academic competitions, research projects, and more.

The successful execution of this course marks an important achievement in the deepened industry-education integration between the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and Zhaoyi Innovation, Hard Egg Industry Academy. The three parties will continue to collaborate in the future, focusing on the core goal of cultivating interdisciplinary top-tier innovative talents. Areas of further cooperation will include the construction of campus innovation practice bases, the establishment of specialized experimental courses, and the guidance of high-level academic competitions, aiming to innovate the school-enterprise collaborative education mechanisms and pathways, thus nurturing more well-rounded talents with both theoretical knowledge and practical abilities for relevant fields.
