The “Datang Cup” National College Students’ New Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition is a national-level university discipline competition co-organized by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Communication Enterprise Association. It is included in the national ranking of university discipline competitions and is listed as a project for undergraduate discipline competitions at Shenzhen University. Our college’s four participating teams achieved one provincial third prize in the 2025 “Datang Cup” National College Students’ New Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition.

The “Datang Cup” competition aims to promote the high-quality development of the information and communication industry, deepen the integration of industry and education, and cultivate technical skills talent. The competition includes three main tracks, the Engineering Practice Competition, the Industry-Education Integration 5G+ Innovation Application Competition and the ICT Fundamental General Knowledge Competition, covering areas such as 5G network architecture, artificial intelligence, basic circuits, and vertical industry applications. It employs a two-phase competition system of “provincial competition + national competition”. The competition uses a virtual simulation platform provided by the organizers, and participant groups design their projects according to competition requirements.

The college entrusted teachers Zhang Min and Li Xiongjun from the Innovation Department to provide specialized training for the students, introducing the key assessment points of the competition and giving constructive feedback on the reports prepared by the students. Ultimately, the joint team “Sun Voyager”, composed of students from the Optoelectronics, Physics, and Nuclear majors, won the provincial third prize.
