The College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering Conducts Graduate Admissions Promotion at Universities in Nanjing and Suzhou

In pursuit of scientific research and dreams, Shenzhen University aims to foster a robust academic community. To further enhance its recruitment impact, attract quality students nationwide, and strengthen academic exchanges and collaborative discipline development with peer universities, a delegation from the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering at Shenzhen University, led by Executive Vice Dean Liu Liwei, Vice Dean Luo Jingting, Deputy Director of the Physics Department Xue Bai, and Deputy Director of the Intelligent Perception Engineering Department Li Baikui, visited prestigious universities in Nanjing and Suzhou to engage in discussions and conduct graduate admissions presentations.

On the morning of May 13, Executive Vice Dean Liu Liwei and his team visited Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, where they held discussions with the leadership of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering and delivered a graduate admissions presentation to undergraduates. In the afternoon, the delegation arrived at the College of Optoelectronic Engineering at Soochow University, where they provided a face-to-face interpretation of the admissions policies and answered students' questions, creating a lively atmosphere.

During the presentation, Liu Liwei comprehensively introduced the educational heritage, achievements, and overall strength of Shenzhen University. She highlighted the advantages of the university’s location in the core area of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, its discipline development, high-quality faculty, and internationalized education characteristics, showcasing an excellent academic platform and extensive internship and employment opportunities for students. Vice Dean Luo Jingting provided detailed information about the college’s disciplinary layout, high-level faculty team, first-class research laboratories, and the complete training system for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students. He thoroughly explained the graduate training model, course structure, admission specialties, application requirements, and adjustment policies, warmly inviting outstanding students to apply for further studies at Shenzhen University.

Xue Bai elaborated on the Master of Science programs in Physics, mentioning that current research directions include quantum science and technology, condensed matter physics, optics, and particle physics and nuclear physics. Li Baikui detailed the training objectives, curriculum, faculty, and research directions of the Master’s programs in Instrumentation Engineering and Optoelectronic Information Engineering, as well as recent recruitment statistics.

The four faculty members engaged in in-depth discussions with the students and faculty on-site about their professional characteristics and training distinctions. The atmosphere was vibrant, with teachers patiently answering a variety of student inquiries regarding professional choices, research directions, exam preparation, and career prospects.

This promotional event effectively enhanced the understanding of the faculty and students from the two universities regarding the academic strength, disciplinary advantages, and graduate admissions policies of Shenzhen University and the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering. Moving forward, the college will continue to conduct graduate admissions promotion activities across multiple regions, seeking to attract talented individuals and contribute to the high-quality development of discipline construction and the cultivation of top-notch talent.
