Regulations for the selection of undergraduate students' 'Liyuan Star' and 'Liyuan Excellent Star' of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering for the 2022-2023 academic year

To comprehensively implement the educational policies of the Party and the country, cultivate high-level compound talents with moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor development, encourage students to actively practice, innovate, and strive for self-improvement, cultivate all-round talents, according to the "Revised Regulations for the Selection of Advanced Individuals and Scholarship Evaluation for Undergraduate Students of Shenzhen University", outstanding undergraduate students in our school who excel in professional learning, innovation and entrepreneurship, public service, and other aspects are awarded the Comprehensive Advanced Individual Award. The specific selection principles and arrangements are as follows:

I. Selection Criteria

Liyuan Star

Students must have received at least one individual scholarship in the academic category ("Star of Learning", "Star of Innovation and Entrepreneurship") and at least one individual scholarship in the public service category ("Star of Public Welfare", "Outstanding Student Cadre") during the selection year. At least one of the aforementioned individual awards must be a first-class scholarship.

Notes:

(1) When applying for the Liyuan Star, the national scholarship can be regarded as a first-class scholarship for learning.

(2) When applying for the Liyuan Star using the "Star of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Team)" award, applicants must be ranked in the top three in the team and provide corresponding supporting materials.

(3) Number of Selections: 20 (including the quota for graduating undergraduate students in 2023)

Liyuan Excellent Star (selection through applicant defense)

Applicants must meet the following conditions simultaneously:

(1) Meet the award criteria for Liyuan Star.

(2) Achieve a GPA of 4.0 or above or rank first in the same grade in academic performance during the selection year.

(3) Demonstrate outstanding performance in innovation and entrepreneurship and public service, meeting the selection criteria for the first-class award of Star of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (applicants must be ranked in the top three in the team and provide supporting materials) or the first-class award in the public service category or special contribution awards.

(4) Other outstanding comprehensive performances, able to serve as role models and actively cooperate with the school in carrying out related publicity activities for the Excellent Star in the later period.

Recommended quota: 1 person

II. Application and Approval

From November 9th to 12th, students should log in to the online service hall (http://ehall.szu.edu.cn/new/index.html) to submit their applications.

All supporting materials must be uploaded to the scholarship system.

From November 13th to 16th, the college will complete the selection and public announcement.

The college will organize a defense meeting for the recommended quota of "Liyuan Excellent Star", and further notice will be given.

III. Principles of Evaluation

The scholarship selection working group will conduct the selection process in a fair, just, and transparent manner to ensure the transparency and fairness of the selection process. The selection committee will comprehensively evaluate the applicants based on the materials submitted, comprehensive performance, and selection criteria, and finally determine the list of awardees.

If there are any matters not covered during the selection process, the Scholarship Selection Working Group of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering shall be responsible for supplementing them, and the right to interpret shall belong to the Scholarship Selection Working Group of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering.
