Dear Doctoral Students,

With the approval of the China Scholarship Council (CSC), the 2026 selection and nomination process for the International Training Program for Innovative Talent in Optoelectronic Integration for Future Information Technology, administered by the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, has officially opened.

Under the program, selected doctoral students will receive full financial support from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) to undertake joint training and research at leading European research institutions, including the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA), Italy, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR).

I. Program Highlights and Financial Support

The program provides comprehensive financial support, covering tuition fees, international travel, and major living expenses during the study period abroad.

CSC funding includes:

  • Tuition fees: Fully covered;

  • International travel: One round-trip international airfare;

  • Living allowance: Financial support for food, accommodation, registration, medical insurance, transportation, and other eligible expenses throughout the funding period.

II. Partner Institutions and Research Areas

The program focuses on optoelectronic integration innovation, a frontier area of next-generation information technology.The program has established partnerships with a number of internationally recognized European research institutions, including:

  • Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA), Italy — internationally recognized for its research in theoretical physics, neuroscience, and related disciplines;

  • Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) — Spain’s largest public research institution and one of Europe’s leading national research organizations;

  • National Research Council of Italy (CNR) — Italy’s largest multidisciplinary research organization, with research strengths spanning optoelectronics, information technology, materials science, and related fields.

  • Selected students will conduct research and complete their training under the joint supervision of faculty members from both Shenzhen University and the host institution.

Other partner institutions include:
