World Book Day: Qingma Dream Camp Hosts a Spring Reading Session

To deeply implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, actively respond to the call for nationwide reading, foster a culture of reading on campus, and enhance students' cultural literacy and comprehensive qualities, the 2024-05 "Qingma Pioneer Team · Dream Camp" of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering held a "Qingma Reading Session" on April 23, World Book Day. The event took place in Room 1206 of Zhiyuan Building and was attended by the College's Deputy Party Secretary, Long Xiaoli, and Youth League Secretary, Zhang Peng. The session was hosted by Qingma Team Committee Member, Guo Yanjie.




The event began with a speech by Long Xiaoli, who inaugurated the "Qingma Reading Session" by sharing key insights from President Xi Jinping's statements on the importance of reading. She emphasized the significant role reading plays in cultivating good habits among young students. Following this, Zhang Peng explained the purpose and significance of hosting the reading session as part of the Qingma Camp activities.

During the sharing segment, students including Guo Yanjie, Tian Zhangjing, Liao Tongxin, Weng Jiechun, and Liu Yang presented their reading experiences. Guo Yanjie recommended the documentary literature Bitter Glory, expressing his admiration for the exemplary role of Party members. Tian Zhangjing introduced the historical novel The Ming Dynasty, which deepened his understanding of history and inspired reflections on humanity, society, and politics. As the session progressed in a lively and engaging atmosphere, other classics like To Live, Fortress Besieged, and The Third Wave were vividly brought to life through the participants’ dynamic presentations.



This event fostered meaningful communication and interaction among participants, contributing positively to the continued promotion of a reading culture on campus. Students expressed their commitment to maintaining the habit of reading and applying their insights to practice, laying a solid cultural foundation to become successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
