On April 25, the closing ceremony for the 2025-06 session and the opening ceremony for the 2026-07 session of the “Youth Marxist Vanguard Group — Dream Building Camp” were held in Room 1101 of Zhiyuan Building. Attending the event were Feng Zhiyan, the Secretary of the College Youth League Committee, Yang Yinmei, the Deputy Secretary, and students from both sessions. The event was hosted by Zhong Zengxin, the head of the program.

At the beginning of the event, Yang Yinmei delivered the opening speech. She first congratulated the students who successfully graduated and were recognized as outstanding participants, affirming their diligent study, sense of responsibility, and the spirit of youth Marxists they exhibited. She then mentioned that to recognize excellence and encourage personal growth, the college presented outstanding participants with the book “My Youth on the Silk Road”, which records the real stories of Chinese youth who travel to foreign countries along the “Belt and Road”, steadfastly working and contributing their wisdom and strength. This book vividly portrays the image of contemporary youth, who are deeply patriotic and committed to their endeavors. She urged all participants to take outstanding students as models, to emulate the spirit of Silk Road youth, and to maintain their faith and refine their character during their time in the camp. She encouraged them to actively participate in the university's “Double First Class” construction by investing their youth and effort.

Next, Yang Yinmei and Feng Zhiyan presented certificates and books to the outstanding participants of the 06 session. Student representative Xiong Wanfan spoke, reflecting on the rich experiences of the 06 session of the Dream Building Camp, which included visits to innovative enterprises, learning about the spirit of academicians, rural teaching support, sharing readings from revolutionary literature, and studying through drama. Through these experiential learning activities, students felt the power of technology and a sense of national sentiment, while gaining growth and valuable friendships. She encouraged new participants to cherish this platform and make progress through their experiences.

Following this, the meeting moved to the election of the new committee members for the Dream Building Camp. Candidates took turns to present their campaign speeches, showcasing their enthusiasm and abilities. After a live vote, Hong Jiachen, Yang Yun, Chen Mengqi, Wang Yanzhi, and Deng Zhiying were elected as committee members, with Hong Jiachen appointed as the committee secretary.

After the elections, Feng Zhiyan delivered a speech. He stated that the Dream Building Camp offers rich opportunities for various forms of learning and is composed of undergraduates, master's students, and doctoral candidates, providing a great platform for communication. He hoped that students would not only focus on their own growth but also play a role as exemplary leaders, guiding more of their peers toward the Party.

After the meeting, under the guidance of Yang Yinmei, participants visited the China Merchants History Museum, initiating an immersive ideological walking classroom. As an important landmark witnessing the development of national industry and commerce over the past century, China Merchants embodies a deep-rooted spirit of pioneering and national service. With detailed explanations from the guide, students followed the timeline to read century-long development materials, reflecting on the journey of historical changes and understanding their patriotic mission. The valuable artifacts and significant history allowed everyone to understand the responsibilities of a century-old enterprise and deeply feel the powerful force driving progress in the era.

In the afternoon, everyone visited the Shenzhen Book City, known as the “Eye of the Bay.” Staff guided the students through the overall layout of the book city, providing an immersive experience in its distinctive reading areas. This week was designated as National Reading Week, and students attended a lecture on copyright knowledge, learning about the importance of copyright protection, relevant laws and regulations, and actual case applications. Participants developed a clearer understanding of copyright protection concepts and the cultural dissemination mission of the book city, thus enhancing their cultural literacy and awareness of copyright issues.

Lastly, everyone participated in an intangible cultural heritage course—experiencing the techniques of cloisonné enamel craftsmanship. The inheritor of this intangible cultural heritage explained the historical origins and craft features of cloisonné enamel. Following this, participants engaged in hands-on practice, guided in creating their own enamel pieces, and immersed themselves in the core production process. Through this hands-on experience, they gained a deeper understanding of the cultural value of cloisonné enamel and the significance of passing down intangible cultural heritage.

This event focused on guiding youth ideologically, integrating ceremonial education, on-site study, and intangible cultural heritage practice, resulting in rich content and profound significance. Participants drew inspiration from exemplary figures during the closing and opening ceremonies, felt the spirit of a century during the exhibition visits, strengthened their cultural literacy through reading, and experienced the charm of intangible heritage through hands-on activities. All participants deepened their patriotic sentiments, honed their comprehensive qualities, further clarified their youthful mission, and reinforced their belief in standing firm in the present and working diligently to take on the responsibilities of the times with youthful vigor.
