In order to thoroughly implement the deployment requirements of the “Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, and Ten Thousand Villages High-Quality Development Project” in Guangdong Province, and to guide young students to closely integrate their professional expertise with grassroots practice, the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering held the 2026 summer practice mobilization conference on April 28 in the International Conference Hall. Over 200 students from the entire college gathered for this event, embarking on a journey of youth and grassroots engagement.

At the beginning of the conference, Liu Chencheng from the college’s Youth League Committee's Practice Department delivered a mobilization speech. He systematically explained the project’s connotations, team formation, project standards, practice processes, task lists, and practical support measures, clearly breaking down participation pathways. He comprehensively outlined the value of practice, helping students quickly grasp the core points and clarify their action direction. He encouraged everyone to step out of the campus, take root in the grassroots, enhance their abilities through practical work, and demonstrate their responsibilities through service.

He pointed out that the “Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, and Ten Thousand Villages” project is an important vehicle for promoting coordinated urban-rural development and supporting comprehensive rural revitalization. It is also an excellent platform for young students to receive education, develop skills, and contribute to society. The College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering has achieved remarkable results in practice over the years, and he hopes that the new cohort of students will continue to strive, leveraging the unique characteristics of their major to provide substantive services through small initiatives. He emphasized the importance of applying knowledge in the fields and leaving results at the grassroots level.

Review of Previous Achievements —

Previous teams have injected youthful vitality into local development through various forms of service, including educational support, science popularization, red research, and the live broadcasting of agricultural products.

Liu Chencheng introduced the requirements of last year’s project and the corresponding preparatory steps for the students.

The conference also incorporated a comprehensive sharing of previous practice experiences, dividing the complete practice process into three key phases to provide clear guidance for new participants.

1.Preliminary Preparation: Accurately select practice themes, refine team roles, improve program design, and prepare lessons, materials, and contingency plans in advance.

2.Mid-term Execution: Efficiently collaborate with partnering units, orderly conduct services according to plan, maintain daily records, review daily, and dynamically optimize activity arrangements.

3.Final Wrap-up: Timely carry out publicity and promotion, and display outcomes, while systematically organizing documents, visual materials, and reimbursement receipts to ensure the project’s successful completion.

At the end of the conference, Liu Chencheng issued a mobilization call to all students, stating that this mobilization conference is both a rallying call for the expedition and an order for advancement. The college will provide comprehensive support throughout the process, including team formation assistance, pairing guidance, template references, and reimbursement facilitation to ensure a smooth practice journey for everyone.

He hopes that students will seize the precious opportunity of summer, embark on their missions with youth, demonstrate their responsibilities through practical efforts, transform their professional knowledge into service capabilities, and pour their youthful enthusiasm into the grassroots. He encouraged them to engage in meaningful, impactful work during the summer that will enrich themselves and contribute positively to rural revitalization, thus delivering a satisfactory answer to the demands of the era and their youth.

With that, the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering’s 2026 “Hundred Counties, Thousand Towns, and Ten Thousand Villages” summer practice mobilization conference concluded successfully. We look forward to the students of the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering embarking on their practical journey this summer with abundant enthusiasm and returning with fruitful results, continuing to write a new chapter of practice belonging to the youth of their discipline!
