报告内容简介:

Two-dimensional (2D) crystals have shown huge promises in a wide variety of applications with large form factors. The ability to formulate their functional inks is therefore of paramount importance for their ultimate commercial exploitation [1,2].

In the first part of my talk, I will discuss fundamental aspects of droplet drying and our observation on a new phenomenon [3,4] that allows us to engineer droplet shape and drying dynamics, enabling device-to-device uniformity for industrial scale manufacturability for a wide range of 2D crystals, their hybrids and heterostructures [4,5]. In the latter half of my talk, I will discuss printing on to conformable substrates [6] as well as scalable, large format print technologies with 100 m/min speed, and show that a combination of advanced materials printed by traditional graphics printing and contemporary electronics could promote simple and inexpensive, yet powerful technologies.

报告嘉宾简介:

Dr Tawfique Hasan is a Reader (Associate Professor) in Nanomaterials Engineering in the Cambridge Graphene Centre, Cambridge University Engineering Department. He also holds a concurrent professorship at Nanjing University, and is a Title A Fellow and a Director of Studies in Engineering in Churchill College, Cambridge. Before joining as a University Lecturer in Cambridge in 2013, he was awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship, a Junior Research Fellowship at Kings College, Cambridge and an NSFC International Young Scientist Research Fellowship.

Tawfique leads a research group within the Cambridge Graphene Centre, with core interest in functional ink formulation of 2D materials for printed (opto)electronics, photonics and wearables as well as novel porous metal oxide and their hybrids for energy and connected sensors. Together with his graduate students and colleagues, he initiated the field of 2D crystal printable inks, ultrafast lasers, pioneered the integration of inkjet printed 2D materials with silicon platform for sensing and (opto)electronics, and demonstrated the first industrial scale high speed printing of graphene ink for large area touch surfaces.

He has published >100 peer reviewed journal articles with > 15,000 citation and 42 H index and presented >40 keynote and invited conference talks. Tawfique has co-founded two start-up companies, one of which was recently acquired by Versarien plc.
